[Reporter]Like most rural women, Birtukan comes from a small farm. Winner of the Female Food Heroes from the Amhara Regional State, Birtukan Tegegn was born in 1978 in a small village called Mechare 35 kilometers from the Woldya town and 600 kilometers from the capital to the north.

[This Day]Cocoa shipments from Cross River State halted last week after merchants and the state government disagreed over the payment of an export levy, a trade body said. Spokesman for the Cocoa Association of Nigeria, Godwin Ukwu, said last week that about 600 tonnes of cocoa due for export had been delayed since early last week after the local government refused to issue certificates to enable buyers ship the beans.
